WE WILL NO LONGER PROVIDE FINGER-PRINTING. AS PER THE DPS, CHL APPLICANTS MUST OBTAIN ELECTRONIC FINGER-PRINTING.
Applicants renewing their Concealed Handgun License will no longer be required to submit fingerprints or photos, as part of the renewal process.
Coming in May, Concealed Handgun Licensing will be rolling out an enhanced online application. All CHL applicants will be able to complete the entire application process online and schedule their digital fingerprint appointments for quicker processing.
DPS is working on automating the entire application process; however, required supplemental materials must still be mailed at this time. Benefits of applying online:
-Your appliction and payment are submitted directly to CHL which reduces application processing delays caused by mail handling and data entry.
-You are in control of the infomation that is entered into DPS system, ensuring better accuracy.
